Light Rigid (LR)

Under the RMS guidelines an LR class Licence allows you to: Drive a vehicle with a GVM not greater than 8T and tow a trailer with a GVM not greater than 9 tonne GVM. You can also drive a mini bus seating more than 12 adults including the driver

Medium Rigid (MR)

Under the RMS Guide Lines the MR class license allows you to drive a vehicle with no more than two axles and a GVM of more than 8t, you may tow a trailer but the trailer must not exceed 9t GVM.

Heavy Rigid (HR)

Under the RMS Guide Lines the HR class license allows you to drive a vehicle with a GVM of more than 8t, you may tow a trailer but the trailer must not exceed 9t GVM. You can also drive MR vehicles and all buses including articulated.

Heavy Combination (HC)  

Under the RMS Guide Lines the HC class license allows you to drive any prime mover attached to a semi-trailer or a rigid vehicle towing a trailer with a GVM of more than 9 tonnes plus any unladen convertor dolly.You can also drive HR and MR vehicles and all buses including articulated.
